The Verdict is In

Former Cheney Chief of Staff Scooter Libby has been found guilty of four counts of perjury, obstruction of justice, and making false statements for his role in the outing of CIA agent Valerie Plame.

We've known for years that the men (and token women) running Bush's White House are incompetent, but criminally so? This is a sad day for America.

You're right. This guy lied about something that 1) he had nothing to do with, that 2) was not even a crime, that 3) was so legally ambiguous that a two-year long investigation by a special prosecutor (and special prosecutors have more latitude and privilages than just about any other lawyer on earth) could not even produce indictments of the obvious "perpetrators"...never mind that the identity of Joseph Wilson's wife was one of the worst-kept secrets in Washington, and that Dick Armey--an Iraq War opponent--was likely where the leak originated from.

A sad day for America indeed.

Actually, the leak, according to Bob Novak, came from Richard Armitage of the Powell State Department.

Here Here! God save us from the day that the right wing cannot get away with perjury in this great nation by arguing that their guy was not lying to protect himself, only to protect his boss!
